Orora helps share a Coke with the Firies

Share a Coke with the Firies Can

During the devastating bushfires that occurred in Australia in the summer of 2019-20, the teams at Coca-Cola Amatil (Amatil) and Coca-Cola South Pacific (CCSP) launched special limited-edition cans to celebrate and thank the firefighters and frontline volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout the bushfire crisis.

The idea was raised by one of Amatil’s social media followers and the team was quick to contact Orora. As soon as we received the call we jumped into action, and with the support of our Decoration Centre of Excellence, we managed to turn the ‘Share a Coke with the Firies’ initiative around very quickly.

Orora Beverage was proud to partner with long-term customers Amatil and CCSP by donating the cans free of charge for their ‘Share a Coke with the Firies’ campaign.

100,000 of these unique cans were produced. The cans were not available for sale but were donated to firefighters, volunteer fire organisations and fire-affected communities.

The ‘Share a Coke with the Firies’ campaign was inspired by the popular ‘Share a Coke’ summer promotion of 2019-20, for which Orora produced over 325 million cans.

In a note to Orora, Michael Haynes, Senior Group Procurement Category Manager for Amatil, said:

Amatil is grateful to Orora for their fast action and donation of cans which were gifted to those on the frontline as part of our way to say thanks. This is a great example of Amatil, CCSP and Orora leveraging what they do best to deliver a moment of happiness for people who need it.
